For example, did you know that 54% of Vangura’s sales are laminate countertops? Laminates, which are made from pressed sheets of paper and 30% plastic resin, are also the least costly option (and cost less to install). Laminates are anti-scratch, resist moisture and are easy to clean. You’ll also have plenty of colors and textures to choose from – in fact, there are over 1000 different styles of laminate available. However, laminates may not offer the longevity or uniqueness of other styles of countertop.

Our second most popular option, granite, can be more expensive to purchase and install. However, when you choose granite countertops, you’ll be able to choose something more unique. Granite is a naturally textured material that’s cut into natural slabs all around the world. It was even used by ancient Egyptians to line the insides of pyramid chambers! Granite’s natural beauty is trumped only by its functionality. Granite countertops are heat resistant, water resistant, anti-scratch, easy to clean and will last for years. It may be more pricey, but granite could be a great investment for your home.
19% of Vangura customers choose Vanite for their home. Vanite is our own line of quartz countertops, which are made to look like granite, with more regularity in the patterning. Vanite is made from the most abundant mineral on earth, created in regulated mixtures, then poured in molds. If you like the functionality of granite, but would rather have a more consistent pattern, Vanite may be a great choice for you. Like granite, it’s heat and water resistant, anti-scratch and easy to clean. It also has weight tolerance for heavy items and, much like granite, will last for years.
Finally, 7% of our customers choose solid surface countertops. Made from a mixture of acrylic polymer, aluminum trihydrate filler and pigment, solid surface countertops are also the only type that can be installed seamlessly. Solid surface countertops resist moisture and stains, and also comes in consistent patterning.
Countertops come in a wide variety of styles, types and colors. Choosing just the right material for your remodeling or building needs can be critical. After all, you’ll have to look at them and use them every day for years, so getting it right becomes important.
